Hebei Eye Hospital (formerly Xingtai Ophthalmology Hospital) is a public tertiary Grade A ophthalmology hospital that focuses on ophthalmology and features dentistry and otolaryngology. It integrates medicine, education, research, emergency treatment, prevention, and health care.

The hospital sprouted in 1886 (the 12th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty), and in 1904 (the 30th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty), the Daoji Ophthalmology Clinic (also known as the embryonic form of the Ophthalmology Hospital) was established. The hospital now has two campuses, Quanbei and Shunde, and a medical department is set up in Shijiazhuang. The hospital covers an area of over 200 acres, with a construction area of over 120000 square meters and 600 beds. It has 49 clinical medical technology departments and 33 professional disease groups, and various disciplines and specialties are fully equipped. We have served over 800000 outpatient and emergency patients annually, with over 31000 inpatients and over 49000 surgeries. The patient radiates to 30 provinces and cities across the country, and has become a regional ophthalmic medical institution in the central plains of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong, and Henan.

The ophthalmology department of the hospital has been successively rated as a key discipline in Hebei Province and a clinical key specialty in Hebei Province. Traditional Chinese Medicine Ophthalmology has been rated as a national key clinical specialty, national key discipline, and high-level key discipline construction project of traditional Chinese medicine. Otolaryngology is a key clinical training specialty in Hebei Province. The Department of Stomatology has been rated as a key clinical training specialty in Hebei Province and a key discipline in Xingtai City. The hospital currently has Hebei Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Hebei Institute of Ophthalmology, Hebei Clinical Medical Research Center for Ophthalmic Diseases, Hebei Eye Disease Treatment Center, Hebei Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine Ophthalmology, Hebei Judicial Medical Appraisal Center for Ophthalmology, Hebei Key Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, postdoctoral research workstation, national standardized training base for resident physicians, and national drug clinical trial institutions, Research and teaching institutions such as the Affiliated Hospital of Hebei University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (non affiliated), the Teaching Hospital of Fenyang College of Hebei Medical University and Shanxi Medical University, and the Graduate Training Base of North China University of Science and Technology.
