School Introduction

Chengde No.2 High School (Hebei Chengde Foreign Language School) was founded in 1950 and is one of the first 24 key high schools in Hebei Province. It is a demonstration ordinary high school in Hebei Province, a key high school directly under Chengde City, and the only semi boarding high school in Chengde City. It is also a sample school for curriculum reform in Hebei Province. In 2010, the school was relocated to a new campus (formerly Chengde Petroleum College Campus), covering an area of 105 acres and a building area of 70000 square meters.

The school has a staffing of 277 and currently has 275 faculty members. The teaching staff is excellent, with 1 senior teacher in primary and secondary schools, 107 senior teachers, 12 graduate degree holders, 2 special level teachers, 3 provincial-level famous teachers, 6 provincial-level backbone teachers, 10 municipal level famous teachers, 9 municipal level backbone teachers, and 46 discipline leaders in Chengde City.

The school adheres to the educational philosophy of "providing suitable education for students" and takes "moral integrity, erudition, good thinking, and quick action" as its motto. It is committed to creating a characteristic school for students to grow happily. It has successively cultivated top scorers in Chengde City, such as Mu Qing, Xu Wen, Li Shengnan, and Wang Yanan, and has delivered a large number of qualified talents to various levels and types of universities.

As the only foreign language school in Chengde City, it is the first ordinary high school in our city to hire foreign teachers. Since 1998, it has hired more than 30 foreign teachers from the UK, the US, Australia and other countries to teach at the school. 

The school has been successively rated as the national exemplary organization of art education, the provincial advanced collective of moral education in primary and secondary schools, the provincial advanced collective of ideological and political work, the provincial traditional sports school, the provincial training base for party members in primary and secondary schools, and the provincial excellent school of online education. It has been rated as the exemplary organization of spiritual civilization construction by the provincial party committee and government for 16 consecutive years. Confirmed by the Provincial Department of Education as a scholarship program school in Singapore, a cooperative school for children of foreign experts in the province, and a traditional school for sports programs in the province. It is the "Top 100 High School for Students" of Hebei University of Technology, and the "Excellent Student Base" of Hebei Institute of Architecture and Engineering and Hebei University of Geosciences. The "College Student Social Practice Base" and the "Beijing Senior Professor Assistance and Teaching Training Base" of Beijing Second Foreign Studies University. In 2017, won the Excellent Organization Award at the National Youth "Future Star" Winter Sunshine Sports Conference. In 2018, she was awarded the titles of May Day Women's Model Post in Hebei Province, Advanced Collective in Education Examination Work in Hebei Province, and Provincial Model Worker Home. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the online education and teaching work was outstanding, and it was awarded the title of "Excellent Online Education School in Hebei Province" by the Provincial Department of Education. In 2019, the school party committee's "Party Flag in the Heart, Party Building in Action" was rated as an excellent case of party building work in primary and secondary schools in the province. In September 2020, the school party committee's "Party Flag in the Heart and Party Building in Action" was awarded as an excellent case of party building work in primary and secondary schools in Hebei Province. The school party committee was awarded the Hebei Provincial Party Committee Education Working Committee as a training base for party members in primary and secondary schools in Hebei Province.
