Baoding No.1 Central Hospital has a history and cultural heritage of over ,130 years. It is a large tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital that integrates ,medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, rehabilitation, pre hospital ,emergency care, preventive health care, and community services. It is a teaching ,hospital and master's degree teaching base for multiple medical colleges, a ,national standardized training base for resident physicians, and a national ,training base for rural physicians. The hospital has won the honors of "National ,Civilized Unit", "National exemplary organization for Spiritual Civilization ,Construction", "National Advanced Collective for Health System", "National ,Advanced Collective for Medical Ethics Construction", "National exemplary ,organization for Health Culture Construction", "National exemplary ,organization for Respecting the Elderly", and the honorary titles of "Outstanding ,Performance Unit" and "Excellent Leading Group" of the Municipal Party ,Committee and the Municipal Government for 22 consecutive years.

The hospital has three districts: the General Hospital, the East Hospital, and ,the West Hospital. Under the correct leadership of the Municipal Party ,Committee and the Municipal Government, and with the strong support of the ,Municipal Health Commission, the hospital aims to continuously promote ,high-quality development and deepen the new pattern of "one body, two wings" ,185 ,characteristic development. The hospital has a construction area of 245000 ,square meters and 2600 open beds. There are 163 departments in the entire ,hospital, including 82 clinical departments, 36 medical technology departments, ,and 45 administrative and logistics departments. The under construction East ,Hospital Ophthalmology Building will provide safer, more comfortable, and ,more efficient medical services for the people of Baoding. 

The hospital currently has 3729 professional and technical personnel, 624 ,senior title holders, 1554 intermediate title holders, and 1551 junior title holders, ,including 41 doctoral students, 1110 master's students, 137 doctoral and master's ,supervisors, and 61 discipline leaders in Baoding New Century. 22 people hold ,positions at or above the national level, 68 people hold positions as vice ,chairmen at or above the provincial level, 65 people hold positions as city level ,chairmen, and 17 people hold positions as directors of the city's quality control ,center. In 2021, the number of outpatient and emergency patients was 1.656 ,million, with an annual discharge of 100000 and an annual surgical volume of ,40000. All indicators reached a historic high.

The hospital has introduced single photon emission computed tomography ,(SPECT), 128 row spiral CT, 3.0T magnetic resonance system, linear ,accelerator, C-arm digital subtraction angiography machine, digital ,gastrointestinal imaging, breast molybdenum target, digital X-ray imaging ,system (DR), femtosecond laser corneal refractive therapy device, fully ,186 ,automated assembly line (biochemical, immunological, blood, urine analysis), ,second-generation gene sequencing detection analyzer, tandem mass ,spectrometry analyzer Large scale equipment such as ultrasound electronic ,endoscope systems, aortic balloon counterpulsation, and ECMO provide strong ,support for accurate and efficient diagnosis and treatment technology, as well as ,undertaking major scientific research projects.

On the basis of providing diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical ,illnesses as well as basic medical services, hospitals are responsible for ,emergency medical rescue of major public health emergencies in the city and ,120 pre hospital emergency services in Baoding City.

The hospital is the supporting unit of Baoding telemedicine center. With ,the advantage of Internet platform, it has successively formed cooperation units ,with more than ten well-known hospitals in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to meet ,the needs of cross hospital and cross regional medical cooperation, drive the ,development of regional medical care, and maximize the sharing of high-quality ,resources for the benefit of the people. 

The informationization construction of hospitals has achieved the interconnection and interoperability of data and standards across the three, hospital areas. The outpatient "one card" medical treatment, mobile payment, in hospital navigation, inpatient self-service payment and other information, systems make it convenient for patients to seek medical treatment. The informatization construction with electronic medical records as the core has reached the national fourth level.
