Handan Museum

Handan Museum is "National First-Class Museum", "Hebei Province Patriotic Education Base", and one of the first batch of "Hebei Province Social Science Popularization Base" and "Hebei Province Volunteer Practice Base". 
The New Hall of Handan Museum was founded in 2008, located to the west of the city’s landmark building Art Center, to the east of Fudong Street, and facing Longhu Park across the road. It covers an area of approximately 12,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 30,679 square meters and an exhibition hall area of over 15,000 square meters. As a major cultural project that attracts the attention of the city, the New Hall of Handan Museum is a modern, intelligent and experiential museum, and strives to become a "palace of art", "learning classroom" and "leisure paradise" for the masses.
Handan Museum has gathered together the essence of cultural relics and the latest research achievements of the city, with a collection of nearly 10,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics, of which the early Neolithic Cishan cultural relics, cultural relics of the Shang Dynasty, cultural relics of the State of Zhao in the pre-Qin and Han dynasties, Buddhist statues in Handan, and fine cultural relics of Cizhou Kiln in various periods are the most distinctive. The three walls of the central hall on the first floor are also inlaid with three forged copper murals of "Light of Ci Mountain ", "Hu Fu Qi She (Riding horses and shooting arrows dressed in clothes of northern ethnic groups)" and "Jian'an Strength of Character". The three forged copper murals, with a area of 210 square meters, reflects the three important periods of Handan's history and culture, and is the best domestic indoor forged copper murals, which has won the 2002 Hebei Province Literature and Art Revitalization Award; In the center of the hall, there is also a group of bronze horse sculptures created based on the bronze horses unearthed from the Mausoleum of King Zhao, and the sculptures highlight the magnificent and brilliant spirit of Zhao Culture.
